The Work Sharp Benchstone OD55 — a premium freehand sharpening system we developed in collaboration with Alex Garland of Outdoors55. Alex is one of the most trusted voices in knife sharpening education on YouTube, and this product came directly out of his approach to the craft. It’s a purpose-built platform for freehand stone sharpening: more control, more consistency, less fighting your setup. It’s for people who take their edges seriously and want to actually get better at sharpening — not just get sharp.

They sent me one last week, and I _really_ like it.  I needed to fix the edge on the UCO Hannegan I am about to publish a review on, and the edge was never particularly amazing from the factory. The size of the stone made even passes so much easier than on a small stone. The base is heavy enough it doesn’t move, freeing up two hands to control the knife.

Cool unit.  I hope to have a further review up by the end of the week.

Available now.
