Hey everyone, sorry this is late. Last week kicked all of our collective tails as we got the October issue pulled together and off to the Printer. In addition to my regular Knife News column, I was finishing a bylined article on Shawn Houston (Triple B Handmade) which will appear in the November issue. So my website duties were partially relegated to the backburner.

In seriousness, there are some absolutely lovely knives in David Anthony’s article on Pearl Handles. Dennis Ellingsen explains that weird green slimy stuff you sometimes find on your custom knives. Doug Growitz dives into the spring loaded world of OTF autos.
Personally, I always enjoy when Willson Offutt’s Field Trial covers I knife with which I am familiar. In this case it is the KA-BAR 1310.
Finally, Chad David Ferguson tells the story of a really cool 1911 inspired “bowie” by Alaska maker Mark Knapp.
All of our regular columns are back, but worthy of particular mention is a farewell tribute to Bernard Levine in Whut Izzit?. Don’t worry, Bernard is just retiring, but his monthly voice will be missed within our pages.
