The American Knife and Tool Institute (AKTI) has made key leadership and membership updates, strengthening its commitment to the knife and tool community. These developments support AKTI’s advocacy efforts on behalf of knife users and the industry.
Mark Schreiber Named AKTI President
AKTI is proud to announce that Mark Schreiber has been named President of the organization. Schreiber, President of Columbia River Knife & Tool (CRKT), previously held this role at AKTI. He will lead the Board of Regents and guide AKTI’s advocacy, legislative, and educational initiatives.
“Mark’s industry knowledge and past experience make him the ideal person to guide AKTI forward,” said Jan Billeb, Executive Director of AKTI. “He has been instrumental in advancing our mission in various board roles in the past and provides a steady hand in the leadership position.”
Seth Christensen Appointed Chair of Marketing & Membership Committee
Additionally, Seth Christensen of American Outdoor Brands has been appointed Chair of AKTI’s Marketing and Membership Committee. Christensen brings marketing expertise and a deep understanding of brand strategy to this committee.
Matt Crawford Assumes New Member Recruitment & Retention Role
To further bolster its growth and outreach, AKTI has tapped Matt Crawford for a newly expanded role focused on Member Recruitment & Retention, effective July 2026.
As Outreach Director, Crawford will focus on expanding AKTI’s business membership base in the knife and tool industry while strengthening engagement and support among existing members.
CobraTec Upgrades to Advisory Member Level
Demonstrating the momentum behind AKTI’s advocacy programs, CobraTec has elevated its commitment by upgrading its membership to the Advisory Member level.
Based in Meridian, Texas, CobraTec joins an elite group of industry leaders who provide financial support and strategic guidance to AKTI’s legislative efforts. This upgrade ensures that CobraTec will play a collaborative role in shaping the future of knife advocacy and keeping the industry strong.
