Jack Wolf Knives is adding the first fixed blade into its Gateway line of entry-level knives. The Gateway FIXedc is a fresh fixed blade design for Jack Wolf based on a traditional knife classic.

Jack Wolf has spent the last couple years seriously diversifying its output. Originally focused exclusively on folding, traditional knife-inspired slipjoints, they introduced their first fixed blade piece in 2024, following it up with other releases in the intervening years, while also finding time to explore outside collaborations with other makers, locking knives, and modern flipper designs as well. And all of that alongside the introduction of the Gateway line, Jack Wolf models rendered in more affordable materials to hit a lower price point.

So the Gateway FIXedc slots into two of those newer categories at once. Also interesting is that it is not a direct adaptation of any previous Jack Wolf release. At heart, it’s modeled on a boy’s knife, one of the primordial slipjoint jack knife patterns, a no-fuss daily choremeister in both its lockless folding form and here with no moving parts whatsoever. The 2.99-inch clip point blade is made from 14C28N, a familiar face on knives in this price bracket and proven performer to boot.

The handle is done in a bolster-less sleeveboard style, rounder at the back and tapering as it moves towards the blade. Although this is a lower-price Jack Wolf joint, the Gateway FIXedc still benefits from multiple cool scale material options, including Camo Carbon, abalone, and Kirinite – although that last one was only available at Blade Show. The sheath is made from Kydex, and the listed weight is right around 3 oz.

The Gateway FIXedc will be available on June 16th.
