EchoCore Suppressors’ Sector 5.56 Compact has earned a 2025 Editor’s Choice Award from On Target Magazine, marking significant recognition for the company’s innovative approach to suppressor design.

The award comes after extensive editorial testing by On Target’s staff, who evaluated the Sector Compact’s performance against a competitive field of suppressors. According to Ben Battles, Editor of On Target Magazine, the suppressor stood out for its sound performance, advanced internal architecture, and impressive size-to-weight efficiency.

“Earlier this year, we noticed the Compact model earned Second Place overall in Shooter’s Ear (SE) LEQ dB(A) testing at the 2025 Silencer Summit, second only to EchoCore’s full size model — which really caught our attention,” Battles explained. “We took a much closer look, and after a thorough evaluation found it to be a standout in the competitive suppressor field.”

Engineering That Delivers

At just 5 inches in length and 12.9 ounces, the Sector 5.56 Compact brings serious suppression capability without compromising weapon handling. The can utilizes fully 3D-printed DMLS (Direct Metal Laser Sintering) construction, incorporating EchoCore’s proprietary XCR (Cross Chamber Regulation) system paired with a helical baffle design.

The result? Reduced blowback, smoother cycling characteristics, and what EchoCore describes as a deep, refined tone that shooters prefer over the sharper report of traditional designs.

“At EchoCore, every design decision is centered on improving the shooter’s experience,” said Chris Mudgett, Founder of EchoCore Suppressors. “The Sector Compact reflects that focus — lighter weight, pleasing tone, reduced blowback, and advanced construction.”

Versatility and Availability

The Sector 5.56 Compact is rated for 5.56 NATO and 6 ARC, and features universal HUB 1.375×24 TPI threading for broad compatibility with mounting systems.

This gives shooters flexibility in configuring their setup while maintaining the performance characteristics that earned the suppressor its Editor’s Choice recognition.

The Sector 5.56 Compact is available exclusively through Silencer Shop and its nationwide dealer network, making it accessible to shooters across the country through Silencer Shop’s streamlined NFA purchase process.
