If you’ve spent any time behind a Remington 700, you already know the platform’s reputation. It’s one of the most trusted bolt-action receivers ever made, a go-to for hunters, precision rifle competitors, and military snipers. The one thing that’s always been a limiting factor for a lot of shooters? The factory trigger.

CMC Triggers, best known for their widely praised drop-in AR trigger systems, is making a move into the bolt-gun world with the new Remington 700® Adjustable Ultra Precision Trigger Group, available now in both flat and curved bow configurations.

What CMC Is Bringing to the Bolt-Gun Market

CMC’s pitch here is pretty straightforward: take the performance DNA of their proven AR triggers and purpose-build it for the 700 platform. That means a clean break with zero creep and zero overtravel.

The trigger is factory preset at 2.5 lbs, but the real selling point is the adjustment range: 8 oz to 3.5 lbs, accessible from outside the action. You don’t have to pull the rifle out of the stock to tune it. That’s a genuinely useful feature for anyone dialing in for different shooting conditions in the field or on the range.

The O.C.D.™ Locking System

CMC is calling its key safety innovation the O.C.D.™ (Optimized Component Design) Locking System (patent-pending). It locks all active trigger components to provide an enhanced margin of safety under any conditions. That’s the kind of engineering detail that matters when you’re running a rifle in adverse environments.

Two Configurations

  • Flat Trigger Bow (SKU: 63501) — CMC’s patented flat design for consistent finger placement and a linear pull. If you’ve shot a flat-faced trigger before and liked it, this is the obvious choice.
  • Curved Trigger Bow (SKU: 63503) — A traditional profile for shooters who prefer a classic feel without giving up the performance gains.

Both are machined from 7075-T6 aluminum and S7 tool steel.

Drop-In, No Gunsmith Required

Installation is self-contained and tool-free. The drop-in design means no loose components to fumble with and no special skills required to get it in the rifle. That’s been CMC’s calling card on the AR side, and it translates well here.

Made in the USA

Fort Worth, Texas. Backed by CMC’s Lifetime Warranty and Satisfaction Guarantee. It’s shipping to dealers now.

The Bottom Line

The aftermarket trigger space for the Remington 700 is competitive — Timney, Triggertech, and Jewel all have loyal followings.

CMC is entering that conversation with a drop-in design, external pull-weight adjustment, and the credibility of a brand that’s earned its reputation on the AR platform.

If you’re running a 700 and the factory trigger has been bugging you, this one’s worth a look.
