This was an interesting video. I think the AI design is a pretty good one, in that it is a utilitarian fixed blade that would probably do a good job across a range of tasks. There is still a lot of maker discretion in how he does the grind and such.  I think a better test would be to have AI design a blade, and do as much of the fabrication via CNC, with absolutely minimal human hands on.


This reminds me of a tweet I read the other day…

We have a disembodied intelligence designing things to be made and used by humans.  There is a disconnect here.
