Civivi is, like every other manufacturer this month, ramping up for major product reveals at or around SHOT Show, one of the biggest events of the year for the production knife scene. But they’ve already got some new stuff revealed, including a stout little folder called the Vexron.

The Vexron has a name like some sort of sleek futuristic spacecraft, but it is built rugged and tanklike. The 2.98-inch blade has a wide profile, a tweaked spear point with a chunky topside swedge above the hollow grind primary bevel. Rendered in good ol’ 14C28N, the Vexron blade will be a reliable and hardy little cutting tool once it’s out on the streets and in users’ pockets.

Would you believe that the Vexron’s handle has chevrons on it? Strange, but true! Both the front and back G-10 scales have a sequence of the triangular emblem, something that is possible thanks to the locking mechanism, a button lock, being located entirely within the handle. In most variations, the regions cut out for the chevrons is a different color of G-10 so that the triumvirate of triangles really pops.

On the off-side scale we can see that Civivi has outfitted the Vexron with another staple element, a reversible deep carry pocket clip. That means that the only consideration left to lefties on this one will be the fact that the button lock is situated on the show-side. As we’ve mentioned above the Vexron is relatively burly, but still light on its feet overall with a listed weight of 3.78 oz.
