As Christmas draws closer and closer, bearing down on us like the Polar Express, anybody in search of a high-utility stocking stuffer – or just another piece to add to their own collection in this Season of Plenty – should check out the Voidflare, a new piece from the busy bees at Civivi. While Civivi and its sister brands Sencut and WE Knife Co. have wrangled themselves a hefty group of designer/maker collaborators, the in-house crews have amassed quite the portfolios for themselves as well. There probably isn’t a major knife genre that they haven’t taken a crack at over…

Chevrolet wants to say happy birthday, America! To put its mark on the 250-year celebrations in 2026, Chevrolet is launching a range of Corvettes and pickups called the Stars & Steel collection. Each one will get special graphics and trim, and the sale of each vehicle will mean a donation to nonprofits that support veterans. It’s a Party, But Not a Brash One For marking 250 years since the signing of the Declaration of Independence, these Stars & Steel Chevys are surprisingly subtle in their designs. If you were hoping for something more rockets’ red glare and bombs bursting in…
Volquartsen Firearms and Davidson’s have teamed up to launch a special edition version of the new Voltquartsen Mini Mamba TF-22 rimfire semi-automatic pistol with an FDE finish and complimentary FDE grips. This design is one of the most successful rimfire pistol designs of all times, and…
By Robert A. Sadowski Posted in #Guns While we might hear the terms “machine gun” and “submachine gun” a lot, a more detailed discussion will often touch on the terms “open bolt” and “closed bolt.” But, what do these terms mean? The Differences Between Open and Closed Bolts The difference between a firearm with an open-bolt design versus a closed-bolt design is the position of the bolt prior to firing the gun. On an open-bolt gun, the gun is ready to fire when the bolt is locked open and there is no cartridge in the chamber. When…

The shotgun’s weakness is twofold: First, it doesn’t hold many rounds; and second, it’s slow to reload. But, with the proper setup, techniques and practice, these weaknesses can be mitigated. Here’s how to do it: As a quick caveat, I realize that there are non-traditional shotguns available these days that hold lots of rounds, while a few others are easy to load: KelTec’s bullpup KSG holds 14 rounds, for example, while Mossberg’s detachable-mag-fed 590M series loads quickly—but I’m talking about the more traditional, tubular-magazine, pump- and semi-automatic models that represent the majority of those found in homes across the nation.…

The company’s smallest model with all-wheel drive is brand-new. It’s also larger than before, and it gets the same nose as the rough-and-tumble face of the just-revealed Telluride. If the old one was cheap and cheerful, the 2027 Kia Seltos is affordable and a little angry — in design, at least. 2027 Kia Seltos Will Be Larger Inside and Out The company calls the design “Relentless Innovator,” meaning “harmonizing rugged SUV strength with refined modernity.” To…
