Well, 2025 was a great year for new knife designs. We understand that it can be overwhelming, so each year the writers here at Nothing but Knives choose their favorites in different categories including tactical, camping, survival, and kitchen knives. We personally test, curate, and update this guide every year. We like to pull from newer knives that came out over the last year in the interest of making everyone look trendy, but there are also some classics (or updated classics) that will make a cool gift every year. This guide is broken up into categories by use so you…

Woodland Week Starts Now The wait is over. Woodland Week has officially kicked off and we are dropping exclusive gear in the pattern that built an era. M81 is back in full force and this week is stacked with limited runs, TD only collabs, and the kind of small batch drops that disappear before lunch. If you know Woodland, you know the energy. If you are new here, this is the camo that raised a generation of shooters, gear junkies, and range day lifers. Every drop this week is hand picked, built for hard use, and released in tight quantities. Once…

Throughout the year, the National Park Service (NPS) offers fee-free days, allowing visitors to access national parks, monuments, and other public lands at no charge. However, next year, the calendar will look a little different from what it has in recent years. As of Jan. 1, 2026, NPS will no longer observe Juneteenth (June 19) or Martin Luther King Jr. Day (third Monday in January) as fee-free days. The list of NPS fee-free days has evolved over the years. These days encourage people to get outside and explore public lands while also honoring holidays, events, and historical figures. MLK Day…

The latest Buck Stealth Run model has managed to sneak past our defenses. The 12th model in this ongoing series of limited edition special pieces is something that Buck calls the 117 Mini, a snazzed up variant of one of Buck’s classic fixed blades. The longer a knife sticks around, the more gnarled and complicated becomes its family tree. The standard 117 is also known as the “Mini 119” because, although it is in no way a small knife, it’s about 2 inches shorter than the 119 Special, Buck’s flagship fixed blade and, in that way, a companion piece to…

Digital & Real World Off-Road Adventures Polaris has teamed up with the creative team behind the mega-popular Call of Duty video game franchise for a novel marketing stunt. The brand’s…

With most commercial ammunition, the lot number isn’t that important—unless you have a problem, or find a batch that works especially well and you want to buy more of it. There is a lot of information on a box of ammunition. The first thing we all look at is the cartridge designation, because we want to know if the ammo in the box will work in our gun. Next, we look at the bullet weight and type so we will know if the ammo is compatible with what we want to use it for. But, there is some other info…

By Forge Posted in #Guns In today’s article, the author reviews the Springfield Armory 1911 DS Prodigy Compact 9mm pistol. The pistol was loaned to the author for evaluation by the company. We waited in anticipation for the Prodigy Compact with 4.25” length barrel from Springfield Armory to arrive for testing and evaluation. It’s the compact version of the full-size Prodigy, with the major differences being a shorter grip, a short barrel length of 4.25” or 3.5”, and a lighter aluminum frame as opposed to the steel frame of the full-size model. This would be the first Double Stack…

Of the four Routt models Moots offers, the RSL is its race-oriented gravel bike — lean, fast, nimble, and durable. The Routt YBB (Why Be Beat) revives a vintage bike part first introduced back when David Lee Roth left Van Halen. Simple, durable, effective, the YBB suspension system marks the hallmark of Moots engineering — first introduced in 1987, it predates the brand’s front suspension. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. The YBB micro-suspension is super simple: a steel spring and elastomer damper. Housed in the wishbone-shaped mono-stay connecting the seatstays to the seat collar, the micro-suspension allows the chainstay to…
