The wait is finally over. Or, at least, it will be soon. After a nearly year-long delay, Jeep is finally giving us a first look at the new Recon. And, despite some of the wild rumors that have been circulating in recent months, it really will be all-electric. Better yet, it will be Jeep’s first true trail-rated EV, in sharp contrast to the brand’s original battery-electric vehicle, the soft-roading Wagoneer S. The Jeep Recon is roughly the size of the familiar Wrangler. Its motor drive system makes the sort of numbers even the new Moab 392, with its 6.4L Hemi…
MQ-9B’s Third Lifetime Test Completes the FSF Testing Process With a Total of 120,000 Hours DUBAI AIRSHOW – 17 November 2025 – On October 31, 2025, General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) completed its “third lifetime” of full-scale fatigue (FSF) testing for the MQ-9B Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPA). Completion of FSF testing for the third and final lifetime includes a total of 120,000 operating hours (40,000+ flight hours per aircraft life) for the RPA and is a key milestone in validating the design of the airframe. The testing verifies the airframe structural integrity in support of certification to the NATO STANAG…
Finding used camper vans at a decent price can be a real challenge. That’s why there are numerous websites and social media pages dedicated to connecting sellers with potential buyers around the country. Moreover, van conversions are notoriously varied, leading to even more complex decision-making for those looking for their home on the road. But among those who fully embrace the van life for months or years at a time, there’s something even more important: How cool does it look? In the case of Escape Campervans, the answer is very cool, indeed. This L.A.-based brand, with rental operations all over…
It’s one of those bright winter mornings in Grand Teton National Park when the air feels crisp and the snow underfoot sparkles in the sunlight. The trail to Taggart Lake is covered with just a few fresh inches of snow, the kind that makes the world feel quiet and new. A few friends have joined me for their first-ever snowshoe outing, and their mix of excitement and uncertainty reminds me how special these early experiences can be. I hand each of them a pair of MSR Evo Trail ($170) snowshoes, a model I have stockpiled for mellow days like this.…
The We Knife Co. designers are getting a bit wild, a tad experimental, with a new model called the Collinear. This one approaches the large EDC folder concept from a new angle – a few new angles, in fact. Officially, We Knife is calling the Collinear’s blade a “reverse tanto,” but it’s definitely a reverse tanto approaching that point where the lines between an R.T. and a Wharncliffe are blurred, if not erased altogether. Well, hairsplitting aside, this is one striking blade, running to a not inconsiderable 3.67 inches in length and made from M390Co; it doesn’t take a ton…

Visitors hoping to travel to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon will have to wait until next year. On Nov. 13, the National Park Service (NPS) announced that it would be closing the North Rim of Grand Canyon National Park for the remainder of the 2025 season. Pending “weather, trail conditions, infrastructure readiness, and completion of hazard mitigation efforts,” NPS anticipates reopening the Rim by May 15, 2026. Following the extended closure after the Bravo Dragon Fire this summer, limited access to viewpoints was reopened to the public. NPS tentatively hoped to keep that access open until Nov. 30.…
Honda has made the Pilot nicer for 2026. The refreshed three-row crossover gets a larger screen, more standard features, and a quieter cabin. Beauty isn’t only on the inside, though, so the 2026 Honda Pilot gets a new nose to go along with it. Honda calls the more aggressive grille “more aspirational,” but we call it angrier. 12.3-Inch Screen Replaces Tiny Old Ones Every 2026 Honda Pilot gets the new 12.3-inch touchscreen. With the 2025 Pilot delivering a 7-inch screen on Sport and a 9-inch unit on the rest, that’s a massive upgrade. New software for the interface and new…

We’re not alone in thinking that some of the best gifts we’ve ever received have been under 50 bucks. And no matter the price tag, usually, their value is much greater — maybe in sentimental value, artistic craft, thoughtfulness, or the best kind of gift — the one you’d never think to gift to yourself. We can’t possibly recommend every piece of gear under the sun that’s $50, but hopefully, this list will give you some great starting ideas. Maybe a quirky, limited-edition item from the recipient’s favorite brand, maybe something small and packable that they can take with them…
