One of America’s most storied outdoor brands could soon lose most of its brick-and-mortar stores. Eddie Bauer, an international outfitter created in Seattle by its eponymous founder in 1920, will soon file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, according to reports from Business Insider and credit intelligence agency Octus. Eric Flottmann is a longtime outdoorsman and avid backpacker. He’s constantly setting out on adventures into Aravaipa Canyon, the Grand Canyon, or the Coconino National Forest in his home state of Arizona. With the focus on short-barreled-everything, we figured it only appropriate to spend a little time talking about the legal process to obtain your very own not-so-long gun. One way is to wait for a regular tax stamp, another is to complete an ATF Form 1 eFile. Despite the undisputed sex appeal of SBRs, the extraneous red tape required to get one is more than a little intimidating at times. In a rare stroke of common sense, the ATF has established an electronic system for filing some of their NFA-related forms, including the Form 1 “Application to Make and Register a…

By Dylan Casey Posted in #Gear When it comes to concealed carry, most of us immediately think about on-body setups — appendix, strong-side, etc. But off-body carry — if executed and managed properly, ensuring you retain control of your firearm at all times — has a legitimate place in the conversation, especially for those moments when a traditional holster just isn’t practical. Whether you’re hiking, boating, dressed for a run, or simply need more versatility, a solid off-body option can keep you prepared without broadcasting that you’re armed. Fixed blade fans, you’re eating good this week: Defiant 7, a collaboration shop between two knife making legends, Chad Nichols and Les George, has just rolled out a new pair of fixed blades, the Ace and the BK.
