Purpose-designed to hold up to the rigors of the outdoors, but still serve as a chef knife, is the new Benchmade Wildcoast. This is the newest addition to the Benchmade kitchen cutlery line of knives. Made of CPM-154 Stainless Steel (58-61HRC), this is a rugged, corrosion-resistant stainless that is still capable of holding a sharp edge for a long time, especially with Benchmade’s SelectEdge Tech. The 6.83″ blade has a clip-point profile that gives it plenty of strength while still giving you a fine tip that can easily be used for fine detail work like a pairing knife. The Wildcoast handles are made of inert materials like G10, Richlite, and Carbon Fiber that have all been contoured for better ergonomics and comfort, and come with a lanyard hole for anyone who would like an added retention option.

I have never actually played around with Benchmade’s culinary offerings. They are too expensive for them to give them to me, and too expensive for me to want to buy when I already have a Murray Carter. So I will just continue to admire from afar.
