  • Footage shared online shows the woman being dragged to the ground by the “biting” dog
  • The dog owner was arrested, but a search for the person who was walking the pet at the time of the incident remains ongoing, police confirmed to PEOPLE

A woman is recovering from injuries sustained in a dog attack in England.

On Wednesday, Jan. 7, the Greater Manchester Police (GMP) received a report of an “out-of-control dog biting a woman” on Wolfenden Street in Bolton, GMP said in a statement to PEOPLE. The victim, who hasn’t been publicly identified, suffered minor injuries in the incident.

The dog was seized following the attack near Rawsthorne Park and one arrest was made. The suspect, however, has been released on bail for further enquiries.

“The suspect arrested was not walking the dog at the time but is the owner and has a duty to ensure it is in control of someone responsible,” a GMP spokesperson told PEOPLE. “We are still trying to identify the person who was walking the dog at the time of the attack.”

Footage obtained by the U.K. newspaper The Sun shows a dog on a leash charging at the woman. A man then attempts to pull the dog back, but is unsuccessful. The dog keeps attacking the woman and drags her to the ground. She eventually breaks free and escapes.

The incident happened at around 2:50 p.m. local time, the outlet reported. The breed of the dog has not been disclosed.
