Buster Murdaugh, who is the sole surviving son of Alex Murdaugh, has been keeping a low profile with his wife, Brooklynn White Murdaugh, since his dad was convicted of killing his mom, Margaret “Maggie” Murdaugh, and brother, Paul Murdaugh.
Buster’s life was thrust into the national spotlight after Maggie and Paul were fatally shot on their family’s property in South Carolina on June 7, 2021. At the time, Alex reported finding their bodies to 911 and claimed that he had nothing to do with the murders.
However, as the case unfolded, investigators discovered that the long-time prominent legal family had been dealing with their own financial and legal issues. In October 2021, Alex was arrested for 22 financial crimes.
He was then arrested for Maggie and Paul’s murders in July 2022 and was subsequently convicted in March 2023. Alex is currently behind bars and serving two life sentences for the murders and an additional 40 years for his financial crimes.
After Buster supported Alex at his trial, he has stayed out of the spotlight with his wife. Buster and Brooklynn, who have been dating since at least 2021, married in May 2025.
