NEED TO KNOW

  • Real Housewives of Potomac alum Mia Thornton was arrested in Atlanta on Wednesday, Nov. 19
  • She was charged with larceny and was accused of stealing $11,000 worth of furniture
  • Thornton left RHOP in April and moved to Atlanta

Real Housewives of Potomac alum Mia Thornton was arrested in Atlanta on Wednesday, Nov. 19.

Thornton, 40, was arrested by Atlanta police at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport and booked into the Fulton County Jail “without incident,” according to a statement from the Atlanta Police Department.

Police said Thornton was taken into custody because she had an active warrant “related to a larceny involving an alleged furniture theft.”

A police report viewed by PEOPLE alleges that a property management company called police on behalf of their client, who was the owner of a condo unit rented out to Thornton, after furniture was allegedly removed from the property “in the middle of the night” on Oct. 28.

Thornton’s former landlord claimed that “the tenants also took all of the furniture which was in the unit prior to their move in as well as the tv which was on the wall.”

The property that was allegedly stolen was valued at $11,000, according to the report.

PEOPLE reached out to Thornton for comment.

Thornton called it a “new beginning” in the Instagram post as she called her four seasons on the Bravo reality show “an unforgettable journey…filled with growth, lessons, and so many incredible memories.”

“I don’t just make headlines — I make History. Atlanta, brace yourself. The empire has expanded. #LegacyInTheMaking.”
