Here’s How Police Identified Ex-Husband Suspect in Ohio Dentist and Wife’s Murders
Columbus Police Chief Elaine Bryant said at a press conference Wednesday that McKee was believed to be the hooded, shadowy “person of interest” seen walking through a snowy alley near the Tepes’ home.
Bryant, who was mostly hushed about specific details to the investigation, said that a vehicle linked to McKee was seen arriving in the area of the Tepes’ residence just before the killings are believed to have taken place, and leaving the area shortly after.
Further, Bryant said officers had recovered weapons from his home, including one whose ballistics were preliminarily linked to the homicides.
“This was a targeted attack,” Bryant alleged. “This was a domestic violence-related attack.”

Monique married McKee in 2015 and filed for divorce in 2017, claiming the two were “incompatible,” according to court records reviewed by PEOPLE.
