NEED TO KNOW

  • Adrian Bailey, 27, is accused of beating his parents to death with a baseball bat
  • Police say he confessed to the murders, allegedly telling a dispatcher he “couldn’t take it anymore”
  • Bailey is charged with two counts of murder with use of deadly weapon

A Las Vegas man accused of beating his parents to death with a baseball bat allegedly told a dispatcher he “killed them” soon after the attack.

Adrian Bailey, 27, allegedly called the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department just before 11:30 on Saturday, Dec. 27, informing a dispatcher that he murdered his parents and “couldn’t take it anymore,” KLAS and FOX 5 reported, citing an arrest report.

According to police, Bailey didn’t provide an address, but the dispatcher was able to determine the call came from a residence in the 6400 block of New Brunswick Avenue.

During a second call at a different location, Bailey allegedly said, “officers need to kill [him] on sight” because he was a danger to himself and others, KLAS reported. When the dispatcher asked if Bailey had shot himself, he allegedly said he “hadn’t killed himself yet, but had ‘done some others,'” per the arrest report.

“I have done it,” he allegedly said, according to the outlet.

Officers found his parents Roger and Kristine Bailey both suffering from blunt force trauma injuries in the living room. Roger Bailey was pronounced dead at the scene. Kristine Bailey was taken to a local hospital where she was pronounced deceased, police said.

According to a criminal complaint obtained by PEOPLE, Bailey used a baseball bat to kill his parents.

He was booked into the Clark County Detention Center on two counts of murder with use of a deadly weapon.

According to a memoriam by the Grand Canyon Synod, Roger was a “steady, prayerful, and deeply committed leader” in the Grand Canyon Synod and served on the council from 2019 to 2025.

“Beyond his life in the church, Roger served the City of Las Vegas for more than 32 years, building trust among civic leaders, neighborhoods, and development partners,” the memoriam reads. “Those who knew Roger consistently speak of his kindness, steadiness, integrity, gentle humor, and genuine care for people. He loved walking, swimming, reading, watching movies, and spending time with Kristine, his family, and their beloved Labradane, Rocky.”

Kristine was described as “devoted to the life of the church, especially in her love for children. She served faithfully in Sunday school and children’s ministry almost every week and was a steady presence in Vacation Bible School.”

“It affected me so bad, because you know, I’ve known them forever,” neighbor Virginia Zimmermen told 8 News Now. “I was stunned too. It makes me, you know, want to cry. They told us a long time ago that they were having issues with him.”

Anyone with any information about the murder is asked to contact the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Homicide Section by phone at 702-828-3521, or by email at [email protected].
