Fla. Doctor and Woman Found Dead in Apparent Murder-Suicide By Nicole Acosta

A Florida doctor and a woman have been found dead in what police have described as an apparent murder-suicide.

Officers were called to a home in the 4800 block of Acardian Trail in Coconut Creek on a report of a disturbance around 4 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 3, police said, according to NBC 6, WPLG Local 10 and the Miami Herald.

Police said they found a man, identified as 34-year-old Jean Dominque Foureau, and a woman dead at the scene, NBC 6 reported.

The woman’s name has not been released, but police said the two shared a child and were previously a couple, the Herald reported, citing a police spokesperson. Authorities believe Foureau shot the woman before dying by suicide, per the outlet.

According to his LinkedIn profile, Foureau was a chief resident in the emergency department at Broward Health Medical Center. He also served as a Battalion Surgeon in the Florida Army National Guard.

“While he completed a portion of his medical training within our health system, that training concluded in 2024, and he has had no affiliation with our organization since then,” Broward Health said in a statement shared with WPLG Local 10.

Police said the investigation remains ongoing, per the reports.
