Fitness Influencer Arrested on Child Seduction Charges After He's Accused of Raping 16-Year-Old Girl By Luke Chinman

Brian Divine, a fitness influencer, was arrested on Nov. 26 in Indianapolis on charges of child seduction after he was accused of raping a 16-year-old girl.

The 44-year-old content creator — who goes by “Kaizen DIY Gym” on Instagram and YouTube — was charged on Monday, Dec. 1, with six charges of child seduction and one charge of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, per court records viewed by PEOPLE. Divine maintains a combined following of over 200,000 on Instagram and YouTube, where he shares home fitness videos.

An officer from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department arrested Divine on Nov. 26, according to an affidavit for probable cause obtained by PEOPLE.

According to the affidavit, the 16-year-old girl told detectives that she had three separate sexual encounters with Divine, some of which were under the influence of alcohol that Divine provided. 

The 16-year-old’s mother told detectives that she saw screenshots of a messaging conversation between her daughter and the Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network (RAINN), some of which discussed whether the alleged sexual encounter qualified as rape because the age of consent is 16, per the affidavit. When the mother confronted the girl about the messages, she allegedly said she had three sexual encounters with Divine, the affidavit continues.

Divine admitted to detectives that he and the 16-year-old had sex while she was under the influence of alcohol, per the affidavit.

On Nov. 26, the day Divine was arrested, a post was shared to his Instagram account with the text “MY NAMES KYLE AND I HAVE BEEN RAPING MY 16 YR OLD STEP DAUGHTER” overlaying what appear to be screenshots of messages detailing the alleged sexual encounters to RAINN’s messaging service. The caption of the post reads, “This is Kyle’s wife. Not a joke. He’s going to jail.”

Divine did not respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.

Divine is being held in Marion County Jail without bond, and his next court date is set for Dec. 12, according to online inmate records viewed by PEOPLE.
