Sean “Diddy” Combs’ attorney emotionally addressed the court as she defended her client’s character during his sentencing hearing.

Nicole Westmoreland, a member of Combs’ legal team, cried while speaking about the Bad Boy Records founder, portraying him as a beacon of hope in the Black community.

“He spent so many of his years in the music industry helping and teaching others,” said Westmoreland, who is also Black.

Combs was convicted on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution and his sentencing now lies in the hands of Judge Arun Subramanian.

In his high-profile federal trial, Combs was acquitted of racketeering and sex trafficking charges that could have landed him behind bars for life.

Prosecutors had asked Subramanian to sentence Combs to 11 years in prison, while the music mogul’s attorneys asked for no more than 14 months in prison.

Combs has been behind bars since his arrest in September 2024.

Prior to sentencing, Subramanian denied a defense motion seeking to have Combs’ prostitution convictions vacated.
