Beckett DeJean, the brother of Philadelphia Eagles player Cooper DeJean, has found himself in legal trouble.

Beckett, 20, was arrested in Iowa and charged with a first offense of operating while intoxicated (OWI), according to booking records from the Ida County Sheriff’s Office (ICSO).

He was booked into jail at 1:09 a.m. local time on Sunday, Jan. 11, the police record shows.

First offense OWI charges in the state can result in fines, license suspension and possible jail time, per the Iowa Department of Transportation.

Beckett did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment on Jan. 11. It is not clear if he currently has legal representation to comment on his behalf.

Beckett has been involved with the University of South Dakota’s football team, the Coyotes.

In 2024, he did not appear in any games, but instead competed on the scout team. The prior year, Beckett competed on the scout team and in practices throughout the season, per the school’s website.

In an Instagram Stories post before his arrest, Beckett celebrated brother Cooper’s NFL role, resharing a post from the Eagles that called the athlete and quarterback Quinyon Mitchell the team’s “All-Pro Duo.”

Cooper, 22, is a cornerback for the Philadelphia-based sports team. He previously played as a defensive back at the University of Iowa.

The young athlete was selected by the Eagles in the second round of the 2024 NFL draft, and he went on to help the team win Super Bowl LIX as a rookie.
