A Dedicated Dry-Fire Training Pistol

The people behind one of the most popular dry fire accessories and training systems out there – Mantis – have just announced a brand new dedicated Laser Pistol for a fully integrated Mantis training experience that doesn’t require a real firearm.

The Titan X is a dry-fire training pistol that features a Glock 19-style frame for a familiar and popular grip, as well as holster compatibility. The Titan X Laser Pistol features a unique trigger-reset design that allows you to do long strings of dry fire shots without the need to rack the slide on a real firearm, as with the older Mantis Laser Bullet.

It even includes a removable magazine that can be calibrated to specific round counts in the virtual magazine. This magazine feature also enables the system to analyze your reload, helping you identify inconsistencies or areas for improvement.

In addition to the laser portion of the training suite being integrated into a familiar non-firearm rig, the Titan X also integrates the Mantis X10 Elite Sensor, which provides data to the Mantis App instantly to help you keep track of data like shot placement, grip efficiency, and the smoothness of your trigger press, and allows you to track your fundamentals progress.

According to Mantis, all levels of shooters could benefit from the Titan X, with them stating that the built-in trigger reset allows for a more natural practice session, enabling follow-up shots with an actual trigger pull.

Additionally, Mantis is also marketing this new product as a safety tool, as it not only negates the need for a real firearm, but it also can’t load any live ammunition itself, rendering it little more than a pistol-shaped laser pointer, with a fairly complex set of accelerometers and transmitters stuffed inside it as well.

The new Titan X laser training pistol is currently sold for $199 and is holster-compatible with Glock 19 holsters or other universal-fit holsters. Mantis has also hinted that other popular handgun styles, such as some of the most popular SIG and HK platforms, are also coming, which should appease those who are staunchly anti-Glock or simply enjoy collecting unique products like the Titan X.

For more information, you can visit the official Mantis website or check out their fairly active social media pages below.
