Two people are dead and one is in critical condition after a shooting at a restaurant in Illinois.

Police responded to multiple 911 calls about a shooting at Two Brothers Roundhouse in Aurora at about 9:10 p.m. on the evening of Saturday, Nov. 22, per a release issued by the Aurora Police Department (APD). When officers arrived, they found three people “suffering from gunshot wounds.”

One of the victims, who is believed to be the shooter, was pronounced dead on the scene. Two other victims — a man and a woman — were transported to a local hospital. The woman was later pronounced dead and the man is in critical condition, per APD.

APD stated that preliminary information suggests that “all three individuals knew each other” and that the shooting appeared to be a “domestic violence-related incident.” Autopsies of the two deceased individuals will be conducted by the Kane County Coroner’s Office, which will “confirm the identity of the victim and offender” and release their names “at a later time.”

“Our hearts are heavy tonight. Members of our community were senselessly shot while simply trying to enjoy a night out, and our entire city feels the weight of that violence,” Chief Matt Thomas in a statement, per the release. “On behalf of the Aurora Police Department, I want the victims and their families to know we are standing with you and doing everything we can to make sure you have answers.”

PEOPLE reached out to APD and the Kane County Coroner’s Office for comment on Sunday, Nov. 23, but did not receive an immediate response.

Witnesses said that the shooting occurred while the band Beyond the Blonde was performing at the restaurant, per CBS News. Restaurant goers began running when they heard shots fired, according to the outlet.

Beyond the Blonde released a statement regarding the shooting on their Facebook page on Nov. 23, writing that they are “still processing” the tragedy,

“Last night was terrifying, sad, and absolutely shocking. The shooting at Two Brothers has left us shaken to our core. Our hearts are with the families and friends of those lost to such senseless violence. No one should ever have to experience that kind of fear or heartbreak,” the wrote in their statement.

They added, “We’re still processing so many emotions — disbelief, sadness, gratitude for safety, and deep compassion for everyone affected. Hold your loved ones close today.”

Police are encouraging anyone with information on the incident to call the APD’s Investigations Division at (630) 256-5500.
