News broke Sunday Morning while we were all on the Blade Show floor, that Reuben Bolieu has passed away from cancer.Reuben was a knife designer for ESEE and TOPS, an author, bushcraft expert, and world traveler.

I did not know him as well as many in my close circle of industry friends, but many of them are genuinely hurting today, having lost a member of theirs. I always enjoyed the time I spent with Reuben, most recently at this past January at SHOT Show.

We attended a Case luncheon together, and discussed ways we could find to work together. I enjoyed writing and other content, but it wasn’t always a clean fit to share on this site. I am sorry I hadn’t pursued the opportunity more aggressively.

Reuben left a mark for sure. This is just a small sample of the people he touched.

May his memory be a blessing.
