October is obviously a big month for Elvira, but the Mistress of the Dark is going to have to share the spotlight this year with the L-Via, as the popular Kopis Designs/Ed’s Manifesto collab has returned once again, with extended cosmetic options in tow.

The L-Via first arrived in the summer of 2020, a historic moment for designer Ed Calderon, as it represented the most accessible his work had ever been; the Elvia, the custom piece the L-Via is based upon, was well-loved but by its nature not widely available. So Calderon teamed up with Kopis Designs to produce this mid-tech sibling, which has been appearing every so often ever since – and, on occasion, with new variations on offer as well.

This October ’25 batch is noteworthy because buyers now have the choice between three different colors for the L-Via’s GFN handle: black, tan, or green. Nothing about the ergonomics have been changed, of course, which is a good thing because the upswept, notched handle is a signature component of the L-Via’s utility and popularity. “The handle shape combined with the texturing allows for a number of solid and ergonomic grip options, for everything from detailed carving and food prep to self defense,” Jon Bahlatzis of Kopis Designs told us back in 2020. “Everything about this knife is focused on creating a feature packed, ergonomic knife that is meant to be used and abused while still being economic.”

And alongside the new dye-related duds there are the all the other blade and serration variations the L-Via has accrued across its five-year production history – including, this time, some blackwash blades with the serrations for the most emphatic tactical look of the bunch.

The L-Via will be available at KnivesShipFree today, October 14th, at 10am EST!
