Prepare yourselves: not two weeks since the release of the April Buck of the Month, the May BotM has landed. It’s another special version of the Range Elite, albeit with a color scheme that is a subtle homage to a little-known science fiction franchise.

Yep, it isn’t common to see back-to-back Bucks of the Month like this; usually the company gives each release a little more elbow room, but May is a special month, and the 4th of May is a special day. “May the 4th” is dedicated to fans of Star Wars, and the knife world has always had a strong connection to the long-running franchise, with lots of special editions rolling out in galactic trim of one kind or another over the years, both from small custom makers and big companies like Buck here.

The May ’26 Range Elite comes with a “galaxy-worn,” orange and white color scheme on its aluminum handles that, for us, brings to mind the rebels’ flightsuits in the original trilogy. Having not seen any of the many newer films, whether or not similar duds are worn by the newer heroes is unbeknownst to us, but we can say that the worn finish here looks cool and gives the knife a kind of retro, practical SFX look aligned with that first batch of movies.

The handle may be all rebel, but the MagnaCut blade here is sporting the colors of the other side, with a Stormtrooper White Cerakote, set off with a blue thumb stud and also sporting the worn finish of the handle. The special duds still allow for the standard, proven Range Elite pocket clip here, as well as Buck’s crossbar locking mechanism, as usual. The May Buck of the Month Range Elite is limited to a single 750 piece Kessel run.
