Leupold has just launched the long-awaited LCO Pro F2 carbine red dot sight.

Leupold is best known for its rifle scopes, but that doesn’t mean that the company doesn’t know how to make excellent red dot sights. The DeltaPoint Pro, a longtime staple among pistol optics, is proof of that, but Leupold wanted to bring shooters an excellent carbine red dot option as well. Hence, the new LCO Pro F2.

The Leupold LCO Pro F2 has a lot going for it, but its most standout feature is probably its viewing window. It’s very large and features a premium aspheric lens that provides a crystal-clear, distortion-free sight picture from edge to edge. The red dot also features a super crisp and bright reticle, and you have four options that you can swap between: a simple 1-MOA dot, a dot with compass points, a dot with a 65-MOA ring, and a dot with a 65-MOA ring and compass points.

The LCO Pro F2 also offers unprecedented levels of brightness adjustment with 20 daylight and 10 night vision settings. A protected night vision button also allows you to easily switch between modes, and the rapid illumination dial can instantly cycle through all 20 daylight brightness settings with a quick half-turn spin in either direction. Other features of the new Leupold Carbine Optic include its Motion Sensor Technology to preserve battery life and its super-rugged one-piece aluminum machined housing that’s waterproof, fogproof, and shockproof.

I actually had the chance to do some shooting with the LCO Pro F2 at the Leupold & Hornady Carbine Shoot event this past June, and it left me very impressed. Between the glass clarity, large viewing window, and super crisp reticle, it proved to be a very nice red dot for our training class and mini competition. I’ll be doing a full, in-depth review of it soon, so keep an eye out for that if you’re interested.

The Leupold LCO Pro F2 is priced at $900 and it will be available with either a black or FDE finish.
