MDT (Modular Driven Technologies) has recently launched its new STS (Skeleton Traditional Stock). The new MDT STS’ premise is simple: it provides shooters and hunters the traditional “profile” of a classic rifle stock while combining the physical and performance-improving attributes that are inherent to rifle chassis systems.

As a component, the MDT STS stock is specifically designed to interface with MDT’s LSS Gen3 Chassis system. It’s the part that directly connects to the rear portion of the LSS Gen3. Despite the STS keeping the classic profile of a semi-pistol grip and buttstock, it still offers some advantages over an actual traditional rifle stock. For example, MDT’s designers incorporated an overmolded rubber grip to prevent slippage and give the shooter something to securely grasp.

MDT STS Stock Features

The MDT STS Stock provides a tailored fit through multiple adjustment options. Shooters can fine-tune their setup using:

  • Tool-less cheek riser adjustment using the MDT thumbwheel accessory
  • Length-of-pull spacers (four included)
  • Integrated M-Lok rail for bag rider attachments
  • QD sling mount for quick transitions
  • Vertical buttpad adjustment via MDT’s optional buttpad base
  • Available in black or FDE
  • MSRP: $399

The STS Stock also includes an overmolded rubber grip, hybrid grip angle, adjustable foam cheek piece and an integrated thumb shelf.

The MDT LSS Gen3 chassis to which the MDT STS stock connects to is a completely modular system that allows customization from the handguard to the buttstock. The MDT LSS Gen 3 consists of a core chassis or center base that mates to the action but allows the end user to quickly customize their handguard and butt stock to match their mission, whether it is competition, hunting, tactical applications or general shooting. The LSS Gen3 also has the unique ability to change the handguard and buttstock without affecting the rifle zero.
