Shelby’s latest is a pickup truck, one that doesn’t make any more horsepower than the stock Ford it’s based on. But that doesn’t make the 2026 Shelby F-250 Super Baja any less impressive, because this is an HD truck ready to do Raptor things and more in the dirt.

King Race Suspension Puts the Super in Super Baja

Creating a heavy-duty desert basher takes serious upgrades, and Shelby American started with King Race Series suspension. Adjustable coilovers up front and standard shocks in the rear.

They’re 2.5-inch shocks for strength with remote reservoirs for durability and performance over long, hard drives. The new suspension lifts the truck and adds travel. Shelby’s own suspension arms help add articulation, allowing the truck to use that extra travel.

Shelby fit 37-inch tires on 20-inch wheels. You can get mud-terrain or all-terrain tires, based on where you drive. Both choices are the latest from BFGoodrich, and the truck comes with two full-sized spares mounted in the bed. Dual King steering stabilizers help control the big tires off-road.

Finishing Touches

Addictive Desert Designs high-clearance steel bumpers change the look of the truck front and rear. They’re more aggressive, but also more functional than the stock bumpers. Plus, they’re absolutely loaded with LED lights for off-road illumination long after dark. The sport bar in the bed adds even more lights.

Shelby adds its own touches to the interior. There is carbon fiber trim, and the seats get new Shelby top-grain leather covers. Badges, floormats with logos, and Shelby serial number plaques under the hood and inside round out the details.

The truck starts life as an F-250 Lariat Super Crew with the High Output version of Ford’s 6.7L Powerstroke diesel. It’s a shock to see a Shelby with stock power, but the 500 horsepower and 1,200 pound-feet of torque might be enough. It helps keep the truck useful for towing — Shelby says it can still pull up to 22,000 pounds — and keeps Ford’s powertrain warranty intact.

2026 Shelby F-250 Super Baja Will Be in Short Supply

Shelby has done this Super Duty off-roader before, but it’s been a few years. That old model had Fox suspension instead of King, and Ford’s diesel made less power back then.

The 2025 Shelby F-250 Super Baja starts from $159,795, and that includes about $97,000 for the F-250 starting point. The company plans to build 250 for the U.S., with a few more for Canada and Mexico. Builds start this month, so if you want one of these heavy-duty off-roaders, you had better act fast.

Shelby also makes a bit lighter-duty, with more go-fast potential, F-150 Raptors with more power and performance.
