Adventure vehicles and Manhattan aren’t two things that usually go together. But at this year’s New York International Auto Show (NYIAS), you wouldn’t know it.

With the popularity of overlanding, SUVs, and pickups, automakers and customizers know all eyes are on New York during the show. While gallivanting up and down the aisles of the Javits Center, I happened upon numerous rigs ready for adventure.

Let’s dive into what I stumbled into.

INEOS Grenadier Arcane Works

The Grenadier is known for its off-road prowess, classic styling, and for thumbing its classic Defender-esque nose at Land Rover.

The Arcane Works Grenadier Detour is a limited-edition version of INEOS’s wagon. This custom green hue looks right at home on the boxy rig. There’s also a special silver rear ladder, clear taillamps, unique grille treatment, forged 18-inch wheels, a custom leather interior with INEOS insignia, and a cashmere headliner. All this makes the super-capable Grenadier more luxurious.

INEOS Quartermaster by LeTech

For those wanting to amp up their Grenadier wagon or Quartermaster pickup, there’s this brute by German off-road specialist, LeTech. The modifications are extensive and include portal axles, forged 18-inch wheels, 37-inch BFG KO2 all-terrain tires, and more.

Ground clearance goes from 9.8 inches to a stratospheric 20.2 inches. If you’re looking to explore the most difficult terrains, this rig is definitely going to get you there.

Nissan Frontier PRO4X

It was hard not to miss Nissan’s Frontier PRO4X in its booth at NYIAS. With its blazing orange color, black wheels with orange accents, Nismo roof rack, and Nismo ditch lights, this pickup looks ready to play in the dirt.

Nissan Rogue Rock Creek

The Rogue has been a popular SUV for Nissan, and the company displayed the more adventurous Rock Creek variant in New York. Accessorized with a Yakima cargo basket on its tubular roof rack, the Rock Creek version adds unique wheels and all-terrain tires to get you to your favorite trailhead or camping spot.

The Lava Red accents help make this Rogue stand out from others. This is the one you’ll want if you’re hitting the dirt.

Ford Bronco Stroppe Edition

The Stroppe Edition Ford Bronco is a nod to the model’s Baja racing heritage. This two-door is equipped with Fox Shocks, full bash plates, and, of course, that classic color scheme as well as unique badging.

It includes the 2.7L EcoBoost V6, 4.7:1 axle ratio, locking rear differential, and the Sasquatch Package among other things. This is retro done right! The estimated price is around $78,225.

Chevrolet BrightDrop 600 Outfitted by Grounded RVs

If you’re ready to do an electrified van life adventure, the BrightDrop 600 outfitted by Grounded RVs could be just the thing. With 272 miles of range, 614.7 cubic feet of cargo volume, and 3,350-pound capacity, this rig will hit the road without any gasoline.

The BrightDrop by Chevrolet is originally intended as a work vehicle, but Grounded RVs, which specializes in EV RVs, transformed it into a very interesting and modern setup complete with bed, sink, fridge, shower, and toilet — all the comforts of any other recreational vehicle.

Almost all of Subaru’s lineup offers adventure, and at the 2025 NYIAS, it showed off four new or revised vehicles. These include the refreshed Solterra EV, new Trailseeker EV, and next-generation Outback/Outback Wilderness.

The Outback and Outback Wilderness will have between 8.7 and 9.5 inches of ground clearance, and roof rails that’ll hold up to 800 pounds. Of course, all four vehicles will be all-wheel drive.

Hyundai Palisade XRT Pro

Hyundai’s big SUV, the Palisade, is getting a refresh for 2026 and adding a new trim, XRT Pro. With 255/60R/18 all-terrain tires, 8.4 inches of ground clearance, orange tow hooks, multiple drive modes, eLSD rear end, and more body cladding, this is the more exciting huge Hyundai. Plus, you can take the whole family with you, as it’s a seven-seater. And a new 3.5L, 287-horsepower normally aspirated V6 provides motivation.

Storyteller Overland GXV Epic

Without a doubt, one of the largest vehicles at NYIAS is the Storyteller Overland GXV Epic. This brute will get you anywhere and everywhere in the globe — or at least close!

With a luxurious four-season living space, locking axles, massive bull bar, scads of auxiliary lights, a 1,980W solar system, and a 200-gallon diesel tank providing up to 1,800 miles of range, this is simply a titan of a global expedition truck. Pricing starts at $799,785.

Genesis X Gran Equator Concept

Hyundai’s luxury division, Genesis, debuted this overland concept, a mix of traditional and modern called the Genesis X Gran Equator Concept. With big 24-inch beadlock wheels, Nitto Ridge Grappler Tires, silver roof rails, and an interior with gauges inspired by camera lenses, this Genesis overlander looks ready to take you anywhere in luxury, comfort, and style. While it’s just a concept, it hints at the brand’s desire to throw its hat into the adventuremobile ring.
