Learn More It’s rare to find a moto rack that accommodates bicycles, and almost unheard of to find a bike rack that accommodates motorbikes. Hauling both can be cumbersome, with bikes mounted on the car and the motorcycle towed on a trailer, meaning that often, people will choose between bringing one or the other on their adventures. Enter the 1Up Moto Rack ($1,720). It’s the brand’s first moto rack, capable of hauling any motorcycle up to 500 pounds. It’s available for 2″ and 2.5″ receivers. But,…

Another avenue for staffing National Parks was quietly closed, alongside February’s mass layoffs within the National Park Service (NPS). Since 2011, the NPS Academy Cohort has offered internships to college students, particularly those from marginalized groups. As a partnership between the NPS and the nonprofit organization American Conservation Experience (ACE), the program aimed to diversify the NPS workforce and acted as a pipeline for young NPS employees with a passion for working outside. This year would have been the program’s 15th cohort. But in February, in the fallout from the Trump administration’s mandated termination of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI)…

Roark Aerospace Announce Production of “Canens” a Portable Device That Effectively Targets Fiber Optic UAV’s Roark Aerospace have today announced the commencement of production for their “Canens” C-UAS system. The Canens system is designed to specifically target and neutralize UAV’s operating on fiber optic communications. Fiber optic link based UAV’s were first discovered operating in the Ukranian conflict towards the end of 2024. They had previously been deemed impervious to traditional C-UAS solutions such as High Energy Microwaves with tactics reverting back to more archaic methods involving nets and small arms fire. The Canens system has two operational functions that…

I was 9 years old the first time I saw The Warriors. Admittedly, I was a bit young by today’s standards for that sort of film, but the early 1980s were a very different time. Not only was that movie my first look at (outlandishly Hollywood) inner-city turf wars, it was also the first time I remember seeing a switchblade. As much as I desperately wanted one, that was an impossible ask back then. Today, not only do I have a grown-up’s budget, I can even count the purchase as a tax deduction. Plus, automatic knives aren’t nearly as illegal…

Each month we share the current month’s Knife News column here on the website.  While it might not always be the freshest by the time it hits here, it is a good survey of what we here at KNIFE feel is noteworthy enough for limited space in Print. Orbital Knives Taps Paul Munko for First Collaboration Release Eddy Martinez is no stranger to the knife industry. He started his knife journey as an enthusiast, later designing his first knife for Kansept, the Dako, in 2023. He enjoyed the process, but wanted more control over the final product in the future.…

Magpul is announcing the new Magpul UCS, a highly-featured stock designed for rear-mounted, vertical M1913/Picatinny rails. The stock features a reversible hinge for left- and right-folding configurations, and 5 degrees of drop for clearance—most stocks feature less of a drop, which doesn’t work for all firearms. The UCS stock also ships with two reversible cheek risers (½ inch and ¾ inch), and when combined with the reversible M1913 clamp, which allows for a 1/2-slot height adjustment along the rear rail for increased comb…

By Alan M. Rice Posted in #Guns Since 1974, M1A rifles have been rolling off the Springfield Armory production line without interruption — an incredible half-century run and counting. A faithful, semi-automatic version of the famed M14 service rifle, the M1A has been in production for decades longer than the original M14 — something that speaks to the inherent longevity of the design. In many respects, to my mind, Springfield’s innovations and dedication to precision manufacturing have helped the M1A surpass the original M14.  I am the type of shooter who places a high value on accuracy and precision. I owned…
