Matt Easton is back, and this is a really interesting video. Stone and bone show up in the prehistoric archaeological record, but these are the only organic examples that tend to survive, except in really advantageous preservation situations (dry caves, sealed burials). Read the full article here

The new family of vehicles will replace the Marine Corps’ Medium Tactical Vehicle Replacement fleet (MTVR), which includes cargo, dump, wrecker, tractor and re-supply trucks supporting air-ground task force combat support missions. By Sean Utley Posted in #Guns In this Springfield Model 2020 Heatseeker review, author Sean Utley tests the newest bolt action rifle from Geneseo. The rifle, chambered for either .308 Win or 6.5 Creedmoor, has the look of a serious performer. Is it? That’s what Utley set out to discover. The rifle was provided to the author prior to launch for the purposes of this review. This may come off as a bit cocky, but I don’t care. Springfield’s push, and a very successful one I might add, into the bolt-action fray was anything but a surprise to me. In…
This will definitely be a Knife News item in the July issue. Too late for June. This is exciting news. Ben has taken the dream a step further. First it was designing a knife for WE. Then it was OEM’ing designs abroad. Then he onshored OEM to the USA with White River for the Lulu and the Large Lulu. Now it is the Little Lulu, made in Utah, in-house by Knafs. An interesting fixed blade is on the way from Boker and collaborator Brent Michael Smith, who works under the shop name of Bald Man Knife & Tool. They have come together to create the Thicker Clipper, a fixed blade that lives up to its name while still staying in or near the EDC fixed blade class. Not sure what to think of this one. Not really a cleaver, the nearest approximation I can come up with is a CRKT Razel. Odd knife. Read the whole thing at KnifeNews.com Brent Michael Smith Brings Beefy Blade to Boker Read the full…
The world of knives continues to evolve and change to meet modern demands, inviting new designs and materials along the way. Perhaps coincidentally, a growing trend sees some great knives coming from brands that aren’t specifically knife manufacturers. Where once customers only sought out and celebrated established knife brands, the industry now sees a movement toward brands that focus on more holistic lifestyles — like everyday carry, for example. Take Big Idea Design, a company known as much for its bit drivers, pens, and watches as it is for its knives. This modern-day outfitter has created an entire line of EDC solutions, all…
