I hit the range to test out the Marlin 1894 Trapper along with a dozen loads of 10mm Auto. The 10mm Automatic cartridge has had an up-and-down history. With support from former Marine, gun writer and Gunsite Academy founder Jeff Cooper, Norma introduced the 10mm Automatic cartridge in 1983. Designed for a pistol and loaded to 37,500 psi, it can push a 200-grain bullet to 1,200 fps out of a 5-inch barrel. Among outdoor tools, knives offer the widest range of choices — intimidating for some, opportunity for others. If you rely on a knife every day, having one tailored to your needs is a real advantage. Flytanium, a Blade HQ brand originally known for its titanium aftermarket scales, began making its own knives in 2021. Since then, the brand has found a niche with the real EDC faithful. I’m one of them. It’s a habit that guarantees I’m never without a pen, lighter, or knife. Last December, Flytanium launched the BEEF: a full-size folding knife marketed as nothing fancy, just gets…
You’d be hard-pressed to make a pack that appeals to me more than an abrasion-resistant, water-resistant, external frame pack that leverages lightweight materials to actually haul and haul well. It’s an approach to pack design that I like to call ultrahauling. And there are few companies I trust more to tackle that approach to pack design than Seek Outside. So, when I heard that Seek Outside was releasing a 2.0 of its Goshawk 4800, a pack that has spent more time at the top of my rotation than any other over the last year, I quickly detoured along a 2,000-mile…

The brand has been dabbling in the bike market for years. Back in 2018, it began producing a lineup of electric mountain and e-road bike models, which Ducati continues to sell to this day. Recently, Ducati announced plans to strengthen its presence in cycling by developing and producing a broader range of bicycles, including high-performance road and gravel models. For the development of the new lineup, Ducati said that it’s leaning on the…
Rivian will increase the number of miles its current fleet of EVs can drive hands-free from 150,000 to 3.5 million miles before the end of the year. And, it plans to take things to the next level when it launches its new R2 SUV next year, said CEO RJ Scaringe, making it possible to drive hands-free and “eyes off.” The autonomous driving wars are heating up, with Rivian firing a shot over the bow of the industry’s presumptive leader, Tesla. Rivian revealed Thursday plans to increase to 3.5 million miles the roadways on which its R1S and R1T battery-electric vehicles…
