A Memorial Day ride in southwest Montana turned ugly after a single strand of barbed wire was reportedly stretched across a trail in the Pipestone Recreation Area east of Butte. The Bureau of Land Management is investigating the incident, which reportedly involved a child on a dirt bike. No serious injury has been reported. The Bundeswehr has once again awarded Rheinmetall a major contract for Laser-Light-Modules. Following budget approval by the German Bundestag’s Budget Committee in December 2025, a further definitive call-off has now been made under the framework contract, which was concluded in June 2021 and extended in December 2025. Between 2026 and 2032, and additional six-figure quantity of ‘LLM-VarioRay’ Laser-Light-Modules is to be delivered to the troops. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is proposing a major expansion of hunting and fishing access across national wildlife refuges and national fish hatcheries. The agency’s 2026-2027 station-specific hunting and sport fishing rule would open or expand opportunities at 111 field stations. That includes 107 National Wildlife Refuge System units and four National Fish Hatchery System units.
