Hey everyone, the June Knife News is always a good one, as it is always highly desired by companies. THis is because it is the issue that we give away at Blade Show, and we get to include the “go see it for yourself at booth…” tag at the end of the pieces.
As always, this isn’t the freshest news by the time it is posted online, but we have often shared the original news on the newsfeed weeks ago. Instead this serves as a time capsule of what we feel is worth highlighting for posterity.

Case Kicks Off Summer with a Pair of Fillet Knives

Just in time for the summer fishing season, W.R. Case & Sons has introduced a pair of purpose-built fillet knives. The new 6-inch and 8-inch models feature ergonomic black synthetic handles designed with a tacky, secure grip that performs even when wet — ideal for riverbanks, rocking boats, or saltwater spray.

Both knives are built around Case’s Tru-Sharp stainless steel blades, with a tapered, full-flat grind for flexibility and precision. The 6-inch version (Model 65670, $64.99) excels at delicate panfish, bait cutting, or smaller game prep, while the 8-inch model (Model 65671, $69.99) handles heavier duties like snook, walleye, or tuna with clean, efficient cuts. Overall lengths are 12 inches (6”) and 14 inches (8”), and each includes a full-length black plastic blade guard for safe storage and transport.

Beyond the water, these versatile fixed-blade knives look to be adept at small-game duty, while a skilled user could even tackle larger creatures such as deer or turkey. Both are Made in the USA with domestic and imported materials, and carry Case’s limited lifetime warranty.

This isn’t the first time that Case has made a fillet knife, but these illustrate Case’s commitment to blending tradition with modern materials and ergonomic trends. The new Case Fillet Knives are available now at CaseKnives.com and authorized dealers, or come see them yourself at the Atlanta Blade Show Booth 109.

Bear & Son Cutlery Releases New 4.5” Wharncliffe Slip Joint

Bear & Son Cutlery has added a sharp new traditional pocketknife to its lineup. The new 4½-inch Wharncliffe Slip Joint brings classic 19th-century blade geometry to modern everyday carry with durable D2 tool steel and three attractive handle options.

The wharncliffe blade, known for its straight cutting edge and keen pointed tip measures 3¼ inches and delivers excellent control for pull cuts, slicing paper, fabric, or delicate materials.

Made from tough D2 steel in Bear & Son’s Alabama factory, the knife blends traditional aesthetics and mechanism of a wharncliffe slipjoint with modern G10 or Micarta handle scales as well as a lanyard hole and pocket clip for convenient carry. Handle choices include red G10 (model 484GR), black G10 (model 484GB), or blue Micarta (model 484MB). Closed length is 4⅛ inches, overall length is 7¼ inches, and the knife weighs a comfortable 3.6 ounces.

Priced at an MSRP of $89.99, this fully made-in-the-USA folder is backed by Bear & Son’s lifetime warranty. It perfectly balances traditional styling with modern materials and performance.

The knife is available from BearAndSonCutlery.com and their network of dealers. They will be at Booth 5 at June’s Atlanta Blade Show if you would like to check it out for yourself.

TOPS Knives Takes the Plunge with New Dive Knives

Idaho Falls-based TOPS Knives has ventured beyond the high desert outdoors and into a considerably less arid environment. Long respected for overbuilt, hard-use fixed blades that excel in tough terrestrial conditions, TOPS is now bringing that same attitude underwater with two new purpose-built dive knives.

The Sidekick Diver (designed by Ana Espinoza) is engineered as a full-featured primary knife rather than an emergency backup. Its 5.75-inch N690 stainless steel blade (RC 58-60) with black traction coating features a fine tip for dispatching fish, a serrated section for rope and line, and an integrated spine-mounted line cutter. The contoured gray/black G10 handle delivers a secure grip even when wet or gloved. Overall length is 11.25 inches and the knife weighs a substantial 12.8 oz. It is available in single-edge (SDIV-01) or double-edge (SDIV-02) configurations.

The Snake River Rescue (designed by Jon Garcia) is tailored for SCUBA professionals and rescue work. Its 5.5-inch N690 blade offers a plain main edge paired with a fully serrated 2.5-inch spine for heavy net, line, and rope cutting. A blunt safety tip, extended metal pommel that doubles as a tank tapper, and high-visibility yellow/black G10 handle complete the package. Overall length is 9.38 inches at 10.9 oz. Both knives include a black Kydex sheath.

The Sidekick Diver and the Snake River Rescue have been thoroughly tested in wet environments, both fresh and saltwater, bringing TOPS’ rugged DNA into the aquatic realm.

Both are Made in the USA and carry an MSRP of $395, though they are listed at $320 on the TopsKnives.com website and many online retailers. Check them out online or see them in person at the Atlanta Blade Show Booth 1243.

Kansept Launches Munko’s Latest Cosmic Creation

Paul Munko of Munko Knives has a clear penchant for cosmically named knives, with the new Kansept Pluto following models like the Cosmos and Quasar.

“The Pluto was designed as the smaller companion to last year’s Quasar, sharing many of the same aesthetic cues as its full-sized older brother,” Munko explains. “Built with everyday carry in mind, the Pluto offers a compact footprint without sacrificing comfort or usability. The handle allows for a natural three-finger grip, while the generous finger choil brings the pinky into play, creating a full-sized feel on a small-sized blade. Whether tucked into your coin pocket as a secondary carry or used as your primary blade for the day, the Pluto is a fidgety, functional, and capable tool ready for just about anything you throw at it.”

The Pluto features a 2.5-inch sheepfoot blade in CPM S90V (with satin, blackwash, or rose gold finishes) or acid-etched damascus. It deploys smoothly via dual front and rear flippers and locks securely with a bolster locking mechanism.

Handle materials vary across four variants, from premium Snake Skin Gold Fatcarbon and titanium to more affordable Micarta and Shred Carbon Fiber options. Closed length is under 4 inches, with a weight around 3.28 ounces for excellent pocketability. The Pluto is priced from $139 to $222 depending on configuration.

You can find out more at www.KanseptKnives.com. Catch the Pluto (and more cosmic Munko designs) at the Atlanta Blade Show. Kansept can be found at Booth 348, and when he is not hanging out there, the Munko Knives table is 41D.
