At least four people are dead and 11 others are injured after a car plowed into pedestrians in Florida.

In the early hours of Saturday, Nov. 8, the vehicle crashed into a business in Ybor, a neighborhood in Tampa, hitting more than a dozen people who were outside, the Tampa Police Department (TPD) said in a news release.

“At around 12:40 a.m., the TPD Air Service was monitoring a vehicle driving recklessly on I-275. The driver continued to drive recklessly at a high rate of speed and exited the interstate at Doyle Carlton Drive,” the TPD said.

The driver eventually “lost control” of the car and crashed into a storefront, hitting multiple pedestrians along the way, according to authorities.

The same vehicle had been seen street racing in another nearby area before the incident, police said.

Fifteen people were affected by the incident in total. Three of the victims died at the scene, and a fourth victim died at the hospital, per police.

One injured victim is currently in critical condition, while eight others are hospitalized in stable condition. Two other victims received minor injuries tied to the incident, the TPD said.
