A New Jersey woman has been charged after allegedly trying to hire a hitman to kill her ex-boyfriend and his daughter, police say.
On Tuesday, April 8, the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office of New Jersey shared in a Facebook post that 26-year-old Jaclyn Diiorio had been charged on April 4 in a “murder-for-hire plot.” Diiorio was charged with two counts of first-degree attempted murder, one count of first-degree conspiracy to commit murder, and one count of third-degree possession of a controlled dangerous substance.
According to authorities, Diiorio offered around $12,000 to a hitman to kill her Philadelphia Police Department officer ex, 53, and his 19-year-old daughter.
“On April 3, 2025, the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit was informed of a murder-for-hire plot involving Diiorio,” the release read. “The defendant had communicated to a confidential informant that she wanted to have her ex-boyfriend – a 53-year-old officer with the Philadelphia Police Department – and his 19-year-old daughter killed.”
PEOPLE has contacted the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office for further comment.
According to NBC10 Philadelphia, a Camden County criminal complaint/affidavit said Diiorio met the informant on the Tinder dating app. They then met in person on March 31 at a Wawa in Runnemede, New Jersey.
The pair went on to exchange text messages and phone calls from March 31 to April 3, with the defendant telling the informant that she wanted her ex dead.
The county prosecutor’s major crimes unit was made aware of the alleged murder-for-hire plot on April 3, before a Camden County detective informed Philadelphia police that the plot target was a police officer, per the outlet.
“On April 4, 2025, Diiorio met with the informant on the 1300 block of North Black Horse Pike in Gloucester Township and she provided the informant with $500 in cash,” authorities stated, per the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office of New Jersey. “After the money was exchanged, Diiorio was taken into custody by the Gloucester Township Police Department Special Response Team. Diiorio was found to be in possession of a bottle of suspected alprazolam pills.”

“Diiorio was remanded to the Camden County Correctional Facility, pending a detention hearing on April 9, 2025, in Superior Court,” the release added. “The Camden County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and Gloucester Township Police Department were also assisted in this investigation by the U.S. Marshals Service New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force – Camden Division.”
The Philadelphia Police Department told PEOPLE in a statement, “PPD was made aware of these serious allegations against our officer and their family member. From the outset, we provided investigatory assistance in this matter, just as we would for any member of our community. We commend and appreciate the diligence and hard work of the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit, the Gloucester Township Police Department, and the U.S. Marshals Service in bringing this individual to justice.”
According to NBC10 Philadelphia, the Philadelphia officer, who has not been named, told authorities that he met Diiorio when she was his hairdresser.

Although it’s unclear when the former couple began dating, the officer told detectives that he and Diiorio broke up on March 6, per the outlet.
During the summer of 2024, Diiorio filed a temporary restraining order against the officer, but it was later dropped.
According to the outlet, the affidavit of probable cause also says the officer told authorities that “his home was vandalized by a Molotov cocktail in September 2022.”
