Wis. Woman Accused of Stabbing Boyfriend in Neck with Kitchen Knife During Dispute Over Wedding Venue

A Wisconsin woman allegedly stabbed her boyfriend in the neck during a dispute over a wedding venue.

Kailee Brantner, 22, faces a charge of first-degree reckless injury in the Wednesday, Jan. 29 incident.

Police were called to a residence in Brookfield after Brantner’s boyfriend notified police that Brantner had stabbed him in the neck, according to FOX6.

The victim alleged the attack occurred after he and Brantner argued over using their home as the location for their upcoming nuptials, according to a criminal complaint obtained by the outlet.

On the day of the incident, he allegedly told police he woke up “to text messages and screenshots between the defendant and his mother, and this caused an argument,” the complaint said, per FOX6. 

Brantner allegedly attacked him “without warning” when she returned home early from work and then followed him with a kitchen knife to the basement where he went to pack up some of his belongings, according to the complaint, GMToday.com reported.

The man alleged Brantford “moved towards him” with the knife and “swung a couple of times,” per the complaint, according to FOX6.

 “[The victim] advised that he was struck with the knife” and ” knew he was bleeding but did not know where,” the complaint said, according to FOX6.

Brantner allegedly “swung the knife two more times” and the victim “advised that he felt the knife in his neck the second time,” per the complaint.

He fell to his knees and Brantner stopped the assault, according to the complaint.

Investigators spoke to Brantner, who alleged she and the victim both became physical with each other, and she grabbed the knife at one point during the altercation but put it down but grabbed it again after her boyfriend threw her to the kitchen floor, GMToday.com reported, citing the complaint.

Brantner was released on a $3,500 bond. She is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 13.

Her attorney could not be reached for comment.
