- Virginia Giuffre was initially scheduled to have a hearing Wednesday about the family violence restraining order obtained by her husband
- Her lawyer Karrie Louden requested the domestic violence breach charge be adjourned
- The magistrate approved the request but noted that Giuffre will be required to enter her plea at her June 11 hearing
Jeffrey Epstein accuser Virginia Giuffre had her court appearance for allegedly violating a domestic violence restraining order postponed, her representative tells PEOPLE.
Virginia, 41, had been scheduled to appear in an Australian court on Wednesday, April 9, for a hearing about the family violence restraining order obtained by her husband of 22 years, Robert Giuffre, earlier this year, according to online court records.
However, her lawyer asked for the hearing to be postponed, and a judge granted the adjournment, Virginia’s rep tells PEOPLE. On Monday, April 7, Virginia was released from the Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital in Perth, Australia on Monday, April 7.
News.com.au reports that Magistrate Andrew Maughan, in agreeing to the adjournment, said Virginia will need to enter her plea on June 11. Virginia was not required to appear in court on Wednesday, her representative tells PEOPLE.
PEOPLE has reached out to the Western Australian Courts for comment.
Virginia famously came forward as a victim of Epstein, 66, the wealthy financier who died in 2019 in his jail cell while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges, and of his associate, Ghislaine Maxwell, 63, who is currently serving a prison sentence for child sex trafficking in connection with Epstein.
Virginia has alleged that the two trafficked her to high-profile men including Prince Andrew, who has denied the charges.
Virginia is accused of breaching the restraining order on Feb. 2 in the northern Perth suburb of Ocean Reef, where she and her husband own a home.
Her family told PEOPLE she allegedly violated it by calling Robert, which is prohibited under the terms of the order.
Virginia did not enter a plea at her her first appearance at Joondalup Magistrates Court on March 14. The judge set her next court date for April 9.
Robert’s attorney did not respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.
Virginia’s family recently told PEOPLE that Robert requested the restraining order shortly after she said he allegedly assaulted her on Jan. 9, 2025, during a family getaway in Dunsborough, Western Australia.
Virginia allegedly suffered a cracked sternum and perforated eye, among other injuries, from the alleged incident, they say. She was transported to the hospital for her injuries, her spokeswoman says.

Virginia herself acknowledged the incident, telling PEOPLE in an exclusive statement on April 5, “I was able to fight back against Ghislaine Maxwell and Jeffrey Epstein who abused and trafficked me.” But, she claimed, “I was unable to escape the domestic violence in my marriage until recently. After my husband’s latest physical assault, I can no longer stay silent.”
Virginia’s spokeswoman said Virginia reported the Jan. 9, 2025 incident in Dunsborough to police, who did not charge Robert for any crime. PEOPLE has been unable to obtain the incident report.
His attorney declined to comment.
Virginia was going to file a restraining order against Robert, but “he beat her to the punch,” Sky said. “Now she’s on the defense.”
She has come forward about the incident because “she almost died” from her injuries, her sister-in-law, Amanda Roberts, told PEOPLE.

The news came to light in the wake of a March 24 car crash where the car Virginia was riding in was struck by a school bus.
Virginia and her family opened up about the alleged abuse after Virginia shared a photo of herself on Instagram in the hospital on March 30 covered in bruises, saying she had gone into kidney renal failure and that she had four days to live in the wake of the crash.
On April 1, her family said in a statement that she had intended to share news of her car crash on a private social media account, not on Instagram. One doctor said if she left the hospital at the time she posted the Instagram, she would only have four days to live, Sky clarified to PEOPLE.
