  • Police have located the car belonging to the murder suspect who is alleged to have killed four family members in Tennessee and abandoned a 7-month-old baby girl in a front yard
  • Police found Austin Robert Drummond’s car, but he remains at large as of Aug. 2
  • “Remember, he is considered armed and extremely dangerous. If you see him, call 911 immediately,” authorities warned

Police have located the car of Austin Robert Drummond, the murder suspect still at large, who is alleged to have killed four family members in Tennessee and abandoned a 7-month-old baby girl in a front yard.

Drummond’s car was located in Jackson, Tenn., over an hour’s drive away from Tiptonville, where his four alleged victims were discovered, the Dyer County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) said in an “alert” shared on Facebook on Friday, Aug. 1.

“The Jackson Police Department has located the vehicle driven by Austin Drummond in the woods near the dead end of MCO road. It appears that he has been living in the vehicle and may be in the area,” the DCSO said.

“JPD asks all people within the immediate area of this alert, to lock their doors and stay indoors as we actively search for Drummond,” the alert warned. “Remember, he is considered armed and extremely dangerous. If you see him, call 911 immediately. Do not approach the suspect.”

On Saturday, Aug. 2, the Jackson Police Department (JPD) said Drummond was still at large. They warned residents to maintain an “elevated sense of caution” in an update on Facebook.

“Please exercise caution while traveling and remain vigilant. Residents are advised to lock their doors and remain alert, as the suspect’s current whereabouts are unknown,” the police department warned. “Promptly report any sightings to 911. Residents may continue daily routines with an elevated sense of caution.”

News that Drummond’s vehicle was recovered in Jackson comes as more details about his past — as well as his four alleged victims — have emerged.

Drummond is wanted on first-degree murder, kidnapping and firearm possession charges in connection with the deaths of Adrianna Williams, 20, James M. Wilson, 21, Cortney Rose, 38, and Braydon Williams, 15, all of whom were found murdered on Carrington Road in Tiptonville.

The quartet have been identified as the mother, father, grandmother and uncle of the abandoned infant and, according to Fox News, they were all family members of Drummond’s current girlfriend.

The outlet also reported that at the time of the alleged quadruple murder, Drummond was out on bond for allegedly attempting to kill someone while he was in prison in December 2024. He was behind bars for robbing a convenience store at age 16, and for threatening to go after jurors, according to the Associated Press.

In the evening of July 29, at about 10:26 p.m. local time, a 911 call was made reporting that Cortney Rose and her daughter, Adrianna Williams, were missing.

Later that night, the DCSO announced that four people had been discovered dead in Lake County, Tenn., which is approximately 25 miles north of Dyer County. The bodies were found hours after the infant was abandoned.

At approximately 3:11 p.m., the DCSO “received a call regarding a concerning incident on Old Highway 20 near the Tigrett area [in Dyer County],” the agency wrote on Facebook. “A dark-colored minivan or a white mid-size SUV was reported to have dropped off an infant in a car seat at a random individual’s front yard.”

“Thankfully a witness saw the car seat with the child and called 911,” the DCSO added.

Stephen Sutton, a spokesperson for the Lake and Dyer county sheriffs, said the baby is now safe, the AP reported.

Anyone with information tied to Drummond’s whereabouts is being asked to call 731-415-7962, 731-333-0811 or 1-800-TBI-FIND.
