A standout college football player and top NFL prospect has bonded out of jail, and is maintaining his innocence after being accused of sexual assault.

Isaiah Bond, 20, a wide receiver for the University of Texas, addressed the allegations made against him in a social media post on Thursday, April 10.

“Regarding the accusation made against me, I would appreciate the time and opportunity to defend myself and prove the claims made, patently false,” Bond said in a statement shared to his verified Instagram account.

“I am in full cooperation with the authorities and will remain a willing and active participant in the investigation. Unfortunately, claims like these prove to be harmful to all involved, absent full review. I kindly request that all reserve judgement until the authorities provide a complete report based on truth and evidence,” he concluded.

The Frisco Police Department confirmed to PEOPLE that Bond turned himself in to authorities in relation to an outstanding warrant for sexual assault, but was released after posting bond.

Details regarding the accusations against the athlete were not immediately known.

According to ESPN and NBC Sports, Bond was expected to be a second-round pick in the upcoming NFL Draft, which takes place from April 24 through April 26 in Green Bay, Wis.

Bond’s college career highlights include two seasons playing for the Alabama Crimson Tide, where he caught 65 passes for 888 yards and five touchdowns before becoming a Longhorn.
