A Washington State teen was arrested after her parents told police she allegedly left concerning notes in her journal about a planned shooting — and then was allegedly seen on security footage with a gun outside her ex-boyfriend’s house.
Trinity Morley, 19, is facing several charges, including attempted murder, in connection with the July 27 incident in Maple Valley, Wash., the King County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.
Morley allegedly wrote in a journal that she was headed to her ex-boyfriend’s residence with a shotgun, per the statement, which was released on Tuesday, Sept. 9.
The journal entry was discovered by her parents, FOX 13 reported, citing prosecutors’ account.
“I have the gun now, three rounds of buckshot. The shotgun is heavy. He told me that If I don’t hold it right, my arm will get blown off. I have three chances to get this right and I don’t want to resort to knives,” she wrote, per prosecutors.
Officials with the Maple Valley police, along with the sheriff’s office, responded to a welfare check for Morley after her journal entry was discovered, according to the sheriff’s office’s statement.
The ex-boyfriend, who has not been publicly identified, was not in the residence at the time, per FOX 13.
However, his father told police he saw a masked and hooded figure staring into their Ring camera, prompting the family to hide.
In security footage released by police, a hooded figure alleged to be Morley is seen creeping on the premises of the targeted residence.
According to the King’s County Sheriff’s Office, Morley attempted to enter the residence with a weapon but ultimately fled. She was located nearby in possession of a knife and a gun and was arrested.

Prosecutors further claim Morley, who appeared calm in bodycam footage of her apprehension, had an “eerie” demeanor following her arrest, FOX 13 reported.
She allegedly made remarks during her interrogation, making light of the situation and telling an officer taking notes: “It’s a good story,” prosecutors said.
Morley has been charged with attempted murder, criminal attempt and two counts of weapons-related offenses, online court records show.
She was arraigned on Aug. 12, but court records did not indicate plea information. PEOPLE has reached out to her attorneys.
