The husband of a skincare mogul was found fatally stabbed outside of his Australia residence and police suspect he was killed during a home invasion.
Police were called to the 57-year-old victim’s home on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland around 7:35 p.m. after receiving a report from a neighbor who found him unresponsive in the front yard, according to a press release shared by the Queensland Police Service.
The man was identified as Zdravko Bilic, the husband of skincare mogul Gry Tomte, 9News, 7News and News.com.au reported, citing police.
Police said the man had multiple stab wounds to his abdomen and was pronounced dead at the scene, per the release. While police say the homicide investigation remains ongoing, a detective suspects he may have been killed while trying to stop another crime.
“One of the lines of inquiry is that he has disturbed a break-and-enter and we will continue to follow that and other investigative strategies,” Detective Inspector Chris Toohey said, per 9News. “This is an attack that has happened and we need to find out why.”
Toohey also told News.com.au that Bilic’s wife became concerned after not hearing from him and asked the neighbor to check on him, leading to the grim discovery.
Tomte, originally from Norway, is the founder of HUD Skin + Body, a Melbourne-based skincare clinic, according to her Instagram bio and the company’s website. The website says Tomte founded her clinic “focused on a no BS approach to skin, long-term results, beautiful design and genuine client care” after “decades battling difficult skin.”
