A stoic Sherrone Moore stares straight into the camera in a mugshot taken as he was booked into custody at the Washtenaw Corrections Division in Michigan on the night of Dec. 10.
That mugshot, along with booking and charging documents filed in connection to Moore’s criminal case, were released on Thursday by Washtenaw County officials and obtained by PEOPLE.
This is the same day that Moore — until this month the head football coach at the University of Michigan — learned he had been fired after a female staffer filed a report with the school about their relationship.
After being booked into custody, Moore sat down for an interview with police, during which he allegedly admitted to having been in an “intimate relationship for approximately two years” with the female staffer.
Detective Jessica Welker of the Pittsfield Township Police testified about that interview on Dec. 12, when she appeared as the lone witness at the complaint authorization hearing in Michigan’s 14A-1 District Court.
In that same interview, Moore denied allegations the staffer made to police about his behavior that day, according to Welker.
The staffer claimed that she filed her report at the school with her lawyer on Dec. 10 and then went home in order to pack and leave town, Welker said in court.
As the staffer was leaving, she alleged that Moore burst through her door without permission, backed her into a corner while holding knives and then turned the knives on himself while threatening to kill himself and make her watch, Welker said.
Moore denied ever threatening the staffer or trying to take his own life, Welker testified, while also noting that the staffer’s lawyer had alleged to police that Moore had a “long history of domestic violence” during his relationship with her client.
Welker provided this testimony at the hearing immediately preceding Moore’s arraignment.
In the end, there were no assault charges filed against Moore for his alleged actions on the day of his termination.
He is, however, facing a felony charge of third-degree home invasion, and misdemeanor charges of stalking as well as breaking and entering.
Moore posted $25,000 bail after the hearing and was released from custody after spending just shy of 48 hours behind bars.
The judge ordered him to take anger management classes, wear a GPS tether and not contact the victim.

Moore, who had been set to receive $12.3 million in salary over the next three years, per his contract with the University of Michigan, is now out of a job and due back in court on Jan. 22, 2026, for a probable cause hearing.

He was fired by the school for allegedly violating a policy that was adopted by the school just a few years ago regulating workplace relationships.
Moore, who has three young daughters with his wife Kelli, has yet to comment on his firing or the charges.
