Sean “Diddy” Combs’ former girlfriend testified that she was in bed with the music mogul when video of his apparent assault of Casandra “Cassie” Ventura surfaced online.
Combs’ ex, testifying under the name “Jane,” said the atmosphere was “very eerie” when the infamous video of the 2016 hotel assault began circulating.
Jane said she gave the Bad Boy Records founder “space” as, she claimed, he went into damage control mode with his family and team.
“I just remember that they were just trying to come up with some sort of sincere apology post or something regarding the video,” Jane told the court.
The video, which was first reported by CNN, appeared to show Combs, clad in only a towel, chasing Ventura as she walks toward an elevator at the InterContinental Hotel in Los Angeles.
Combs then appeared to kick and strike Ventura before throwing an object at her.
Afterward, Combs posted a since-deleted video, apologizing for his actions.
“It’s so difficult to reflect on the darkest times in your life,” Combs said “Sometimes you gotta do that. I was f—ed up. I mean I hit rock bottom but I make no excuses. My behavior on that video is inexcusable.”
The video has been shown multiple times during Combs’ ongoing trial.

Jane recalled her reaction to seeing Combs’ eventual apology, saying she was “underwhelmed.”
“I felt there was no heart there,” she testified, adding that she was ultimately “disappointed” by the statement.
Combs is charged with sex trafficking, racketeering and transportation to engage in prostitution. He has pleaded not guilty.
