NEED TO KNOW
- Kada Scott, 23, has been missing since Saturday night
- Scott was last seen leaving her job at an assisted living facility in Philadelphia
- The Penn State graduate told friends she had been receiving “harassing” phone calls in the days leading up to her disappearance, police said this week
Police and the family of a missing 23-year-old Philadelphia woman are pleading for the public’s help as they continue to search for her nearly a week after she first disappeared.
Kada Scott has not been seen since she left work on Saturday night, Philadelphia Police said at a news conference this week, according to ABC 6, NBC 10, and CBS News Philadelphia.
“You have a 23-year-old young lady who has completely disappeared. We have no cell phone activity or social media activity and she’s not reached out to family or friends,” Police Captain John Craig of Northwest Detectives told reporters on Wednesday, according to ABC 6.
Police announced earlier this week that investigators are “seeking the public’s help” in finding Scott, who went missing Saturday night at about 9:45 p.m., after leaving her job at The Terrace at Chestnut Hill, an assisted living facility in northwest Philadelphia. Her car was still parked at the facility when police searched the premises.
Scott is described as being 5’6″ tall, 120 lbs., thin build, brown eyes, and black hair, per Philadelphia police.
Craig said police are currently investigating suspicious phone calls Scott told friends she had been receiving in the days leading up to her disappearance.
“Days prior to her disappearance, Miss Scott related to family and friends that unknown individuals or person had been harassing her via phone. We’re investigating that. We’re trying to learn more,” Craig told media members at this week’s press conference, according to ABC 6.

Since her disappearance, Scott’s phone has not been active and her social media has been dormant, police said.
Family members, who called the Penn State graduate’s disappearance uncharacteristic, said in interviews this week that they’ve also been working to trace their missing daughter.
“She’s my oldest daughter. I love her,” Kevin Scott, Kada’s father, told ABC 6. “These last few days have been crazy. Head spinning. Trying to figure out what’s going on.”

Kevin and Kim Matthews, Kada’s mother, “fear that she’s not safe.”
“We’re trying to piece everything together,” Matthews told CBS News, which reported that Kada’s family has been placing “missing person” flyers up around the city and are asking for anyone with information to come forward.
Craig also urged anyone with information – “no matter how small” – to share it with Philadelphia police investigators.
“No matter what information you have, think of it as a possible piece of a large jigsaw puzzle,” said Craig on Wednesday. “If there’s 100 pieces to a puzzle, you may think yours is insignificant, but without your piece, that jigsaw puzzle is not being solved.”
Philadelphia Police asked that anyone with “any information regarding Kada’s whereabouts” to call investigators at 215-686-TIPS.
