The grief-stricken family of a Georgia man found dead in his bedroom is dealing with another devastating loss after the man’s mother suddenly died.
Tasha Lawson died on April 13 at the age of 48, just 11 days after her son Tee’Andrick Lawson was found dead in a bedroom at her home in Glennville, a town of less than 4,000 people located approximately 60 miles west of Savannah, in suspicious circumstances.
Family members of the two claim that Tee’Andrick was the victim of a hate crime, and that his mother died less than two weeks later from a “broken heart.”
A GoFundMe created to raise money for Lawson’s funeral and to support her four surviving children details the connection between mother and son.
“Their bond was deep and unbreakable — best friends who did everything together,” writes the family member who created the fundraiser on behalf of Lawson’s daughter, Terreona Harrison. “The pain of losing her son was too much for her heart to bear, and just days later, she passed away from sheer heartbreak. This double loss has left their family shattered.”
DeAsia Mackey, a cousin of the deceased, wrote on Facebook: “Crazy thing is.. Nov 2009 we lost our great grandmother after losing our grandmother … same way, heartbreak. It’s real.”

Some of the siblings of the deceased have also been unrelenting in demanding a thorough investigation into Tee’Andrick’s murder.
Lawson’s sister Stephanie Green is among them, writing on Facebook just a few days after losing her sibling: “The only thing I need help with is making sure my nephew killer experience the same pain my nephew and sister felt…”
She then added: “Until justice is served ain’t nobody talking bout NATHIN!!!!!”

One of Lawson’s daughters also wrote about her mother’s grief in her final days,
“[Y]’all wouldn’t understand the pain of losing a child , I was by my ma side you motherf—ers will never understand the pain of watching a parent go through pain an stress wondering what happened to their child,” Terreona Harrison wrote a few days after her mother’s death.
The Ware County Coroner tells PEOPLE that Lawson’s manner of death was natural causes.
As for her son, there is still little information being released as the Georgia Bureau of Investigation continues to investigate the incident along with the Hazlehurst Police Department.
Family members have said that they believe Tee’Andrick was killed by two men who broke in and killed the 20-year-old while he was staying at Lawson’s home, who was away at the time.
