Angstadt Arms has recently introduced something truly exciting for rimfire junkies like me — the Vanquish 22 suppressed barrel is finally being adapted for the Ruger Precision Rimfire platform. For those who don’t know, Angstadt’s claim to fame is that they are one of the few companies around that make integrally suppressed barrels that are compatible with off-the-shelf rifles.

However, what I think really sets the Vanquish 22 apart is its baffle-free suppression technology. Traditional suppressors, as you know, rely on internal baffles that can trap lead and carbon and are a pain in the ass to deal with when it comes to maintenance. Either way, it means you end up cleaning a lot and risking damage from baffle strikes from improper reassembly. Angstadt’s approach skips all that — no baffles, no trapped residue, and as a result, way less maintenance. Let’s face it: fewer cleanings means more time enjoying your shooting, and that’s kind of what I want out of a rimfire experience.

Rich Angstadt, the company’s president, sums it up with a few words from his official press release about the new barrel: “Precision rimfire shooters no longer have to sacrifice accuracy for sound performance.” In other words, this barrel doesn’t just make your shots quieter—it does so without messing with the tight grouping and sharp accuracy you expect from a match-grade rimfire setup like the Ruger Precision Rimfire rifle.

Angstadt Arms announces the Vanquish 22 suppressed barrel engineered specifically for the Ruger Precision® Rimfire platform. The Vanquish 22 brings Angstadt’s patented, baffle-free suppression technology to the popular Ruger Precision Rimfire, delivering whisper-quiet performance, match-grade accuracy, and near-zero maintenance compared with traditional baffle-style rimfire suppressors.

Digging a bit deeper into the specs, the Vanquish 22 features a Bentz match chamber and precision rifling designed to deliver the kind of accuracy that you’d expect from the rifle it’s designed for. Plus, through the precision porting tech, it slows down most .22LR rounds to subsonic speeds. This feature means you get consistent and quiet shooting without needing expensive specialty subsonic ammo. That’s a big convenience factor that also pays back in dividends if you’re dead set on only shooting suppressed.

The barrel itself is made from a 416R stainless steel core and a 6061 aluminum shroud, finished in black Cerakote. At 18 inches long and carrying a suggested retail price of $599, it’s competitively priced for what it offers – think of it like buying a suppressor, so until 2026, you’ll have to fork over $200 for a tax stamp. Plus, it’s not just limited to the Ruger Precision Rimfire — Angstadt offers suppressed barrels for other favored platforms like the Ruger 10/22, Ruger 10/22 Takedown, Charger, and even AR-22 rifles.
