NEED TO KNOW

  • A body matching that of 22-year-old missing pregnant woman Rebecca Park was discovered on Nov. 25 in Michigan
  • Her sister was arrested in the early morning hours of Nov. 26 and later arraigned on charges of tampering with evidence, lying to a police officer and filing a false report
  • Rebecca’s fiancé, Richard Falor, 43, was also arraigned on Nov. 26 on two counts of delivering methamphetamine

Police in Michigan arrested both the sister and fiancé of Rebecca Park in the hours after a body matching that of the missing pregnant woman was discovered in the Manistee National Forest.

Kimberly Park, 21, and Richard Falor, 43, are both being held at the Wexford County Jail as the medical examiner performs an autopsy of the woman found earlier this week.

The arrests have not been connected to the discovery of the body, but the bail set by the judge in the case is unusually high given the offenses.

Kimberly, who was arrested and booked into custody at the Wexford County Jail in the early morning hours of Nov. 26, appeared in court later that same day and was arraigned on charges of tampering with evidence, lying to a police officer and filing a false report, according to records obtained by PEOPLE.

All three are felony offenses and the judge set her bail at $750,000.

Falor, who was taken into custody at the same facility as Kimberly, was arrested at 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 25 and arraigned the following day on two counts of delivering methamphetamine, records show. His bail was set at $1 million.

Both Kimberly and Falor remain in custody at this time.

The Wexford County Sheriff’s Office has declined to comment on the matter, and will not say if the body found was that of a still pregnant or recently pregnant woman.

Rebecca, 22, has been missing since just before midnight on Nov. 3 and authorities say she was last seen at her mother’s home in Boon Township, an area located a little over 100 miles north of Grand Rapids.

Search efforts got underway shortly after she was reported missing with an added sense of urgency because she was 38 weeks pregnant at the time.

Her due date was Nov. 18, close to a week before the discovery of her body.

In a previous interview with WWTV, Falor said that he and Rebecca had gone to the hospital the day before she went missing because they thought she might be pregnant.

“Me, her mom and sister, we’ve all been calling the hospitals. I just want to know that she’s safe. Our son is safe,” Falor said.
